A resolution to establish Busoga University was adopted in 1987
A task force was appointed with the task of mapping out the program for the establishment of the university in September 1994.
The task force submitted its report to Busoga Diocesan Council in February 1995
The first University Board of Directors was inaugurated May 6th 1995,
The university received a certificate of incorporation in June 1995,
The University received its operating license from the Ministry of Education and Sports in July 1998.
The University held its maiden graduation ceremony on May 10, 2002, where a total of 62 students were awarded Diplomas and Degrees.
Commenced operations on February 12, 1999
Private university, under Busoga Diocese, of the Church of Uganda.
Location: Iganga Christian Missionary Society (CMS) Educational Village.
Size of main campus: 33 buildings on 20 acres
Non Residential university system with 70 percent of undergraduate students living off campus
