The School of Graduate Studies took root in the 2003/2004 academic year offering Postgraduate Diplomas. The school boasts of a competent team of human resource, lecturers and professional trainers. It Mission is 'To prepare competent professionals at all levels to work in the educational system, research, consultancy, public and private sectors.’ The School is located at Busoga University, CMS Village, 35 Km on Jinja-lganga-Tororo-Mbale Road. The School is made up of three departments with Research as a separate unit.

The school has a series of programmes which include Certificate Programmes, Post Graduate Diploma Programmes, Masters Programmes and PhD. Programmes.
Through collaborative arrangement, and under the auspices of the centre, an MOU has been signed whereby Busoga University has become an examination centre for Kenya Administrators and Secretaries National Examination Board (KASNEB), starting December 2010.
Through this arrangement the following professional courses among others will now be available at Busoga University, interalia:
a) Certified Public Accountants (CPA),
b) Certified Public Secretaries (CPS),
c) Certified Information Communication Technology (CICT).
d) Accounting Technicians Certificate (ATC),
e) Certified Credit Professionals (CCP),
f) Certified Securities and Investment Analysis (CSIA),
g) Investment and Securities Technicians (IST).
h) Centre 4 Peace studies
Busoga University’s campus, academic home to more than 200 graduate students, 2,200 undergraduates, and 100 faculty members, is located 35km along Jinja-Iganga/Mbale Tororo highway and is situated in the Iganga Christian Missionary Society (CMS) Educational Village.
